Find the Google Ads searches eating your budget.

For plumbers, HVAC, roofers and electricians who run their own Google Ads (or aren't sure their agency is watching). Drop in your search terms report and see in 60 seconds how much went to job seekers, DIYers and parts shoppers — plus a copy-paste list of negative keywords to stop it.

What it catches

Job seekers

“plumber jobs near me”, “hvac apprenticeship”, “electrician salary”. They click, they don't hire.

DIYers

“how to fix a leaky faucet”, “diy drain cleaner”. Great for YouTube, terrible for your ad budget.

Parts & store shoppers

“home depot water heater”, “furnace filters”, “roofing supply near me”.

Training & licences

“plumbing school”, “epa 608 practice test”, “electrician license”.

Manuals & manufacturer support

“rheem manual pdf”, “carrier customer service”, “trane error code”.

Money with no leads

Everything else that spent real money and produced zero calls or forms — flagged for you to check by hand.

How to export your search terms report

  1. Sign in to ads.google.com and open the account you want to check.
  2. In the left menu go to Campaigns → Insights and reports → Search terms. (On older layouts: Keywords → Search terms.)
  3. Set the date range at the top right to Last 30 days (or longer — more data is better).
  4. Make sure the Cost and Conversions columns are showing (they are by default).
  5. Click the Download icon (↓) above the table and choose .csv. Drop that file in the box above.

Running Local Services Ads only? LSA doesn't show search terms, so this check is for Google Search campaigns. Ask us about LSA.

Rather have someone look at it for you?

We're doing a limited number of free hand-checked audits for trades businesses this month. Send us your search terms report and we'll reply with a plain-English list of what's wasting money and exactly what to change. No calls, no sales pitch, no access to your account needed.

Questions

Do I have to give you access to my Google Ads account?

No. You export one report and the check runs in your browser. We never see your login and can't change anything.

Is it really free?

The check on this page is free. We're building an automatic weekly version that watches your account for you — it's free while in early access, and will be a small monthly fee after, far less than an agency.

Should I add every negative keyword it suggests?

Read the list first. If you actually sell parts, or you're hiring, remove those words. The list is built from searches in your own report that cost money and didn't produce a conversion.

My agency runs my ads. Is this still useful?

Yes — it's a quick, independent way to check whether someone is cleaning up your search terms. If a big chunk of spend shows up as wasted, that's worth a conversation.

Who's behind this?
